IAVE 2014

1st Release of the IAVE World Conference is Announced

The conference program is shaping up to deliver an exceptional range of topics.  This is a first release, which the program committee will continue to develop.  Stay tuned for more updates and click the link below to see the program.

Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG Set to Speak at the Conference on Day One

Michael needs little introduction to Australian audiences. International delegates too will be familiar with his work particularly in a variety of key roles across the United Nations. He will bring a global perspective on Volunteering and Human Rights.

Richard Dictus Executive Coordinator United Nations Volunteers to Give a Conference Keynote

Richard has served the UN in valued portfolios across five regions of the world. He will address the theme VOLUNTEERING TODAY’S IMPERATIVE in the context of the UN’s new development framework that will be part of the post 2015 agenda.

Program Update

In an unprecedented situation the IAVE 2014 Programme Committee is overwhelmed to have received over 200 high quality  abstracts from around the world for consideration for presentation at the World Conference in September. Conference presenters will deepen the discussion around the Conference theme VOLUNTEERING TODAY’S IMPERATIVE. Selected Abstracts will be announced shortly.

From Macao to Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia

Macao welcomed around 300 delegates to the 14th IAVE Asia Pacific Conference in December 2013.

Hosted by The Association Volunteers Social Services of Macao the Conference was conducted at the Grand Hyatt at Cotai, known as City of Dreams.

Conference organisers had their own dreams which were reflected in the Conference themes: Allied Volunteer Effort and Being Change Agents in a Risk Society.

A parallel Youth Conference welcomed 100 young volunteer leaders who focused on Volunteering and Service Learning.
